Motorola Razr Fold: A New Contender in the Foldable Phone Market

Motorola has officially entered the book-style foldable phone arena with the Razr Fold, unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026. This marks the company’s first foray into this design, challenging established players like Samsung and Google Tom’s Guide.

Design and Displays

The Razr Fold features a 6.6-inch external display, which unfolds to reveal an 8.09-inch 2K resolution internal screen Tom’s Guide. The device incorporates an internal titanium plate to distribute pressure at the fold and maintain screen integrity. It is available in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White, with a woven vegan leather finish Wired.

Camera Capabilities

Motorola has equipped the Razr Fold with a versatile camera system. The rear camera array includes a 50MP main lens, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Performance and Battery

The Razr Fold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage options include 356GB, 512GB, or 1TB Tom’s Guide. A large 6,000 mAh battery supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Pricing and Availability

The Motorola Razr Fold will launch in Europe on April 13th, priced at £1,799 or €1,999 Tom’s Guide. A special FIFA World Cup 2026 Edition will also be available for CZK 59,999. The standard edition will be available for CZK 49,999. Availability in the U.S. Has not yet been announced.

Market Position

According to Daniela Vargas, Product Marketing Manager for the Razr line, the time is right for Motorola to enter the foldable market. “Innovation has always been part of us, so we definitely consider the time is right for us to arrive up with a foldable phone,” she stated at MWC.
