Muireann Bradley Tops Official British Chart

Muireann Bradley became the youngest female artist in 22 years to top the Official British Jazz & Blues Chart with her double EP, Rose Dogs and Blackwood Pew. The 19-year-old singer from Ballybofey reached the milestone, sitting at the top of the chart for the first time since Katie Melua in 2004.

“I’m as astounded as I am delighted that my double EP has reached number 1 on the UK Jazz and Blues Charts,” Bradley posted on social media. “I feel very honoured when I think of some of the artists that have achieved this before me over the last 30 years.”

Touring Schedule and Breakthrough Performances

The chart success follows a breakthrough appearance on Jool’s Annual Hootenanny on New Year’s Eve 2023, which reached a worldwide audience of millions on the BBC. Bradley has since been touring the US and Europe.

“Thank you to everyone who came to shows and bought LPs, CDs and downloads,” Bradley stated online following the chart announcement. “Apparently I’m the youngest female artist in 22 years to reach this position, which is crazy!” Despite the international touring and chart success, her feet remain firmly on the ground.
