A Former Roommate’s Discovery

Victoria Anne Cranmer, a 25-year-old New Jersey resident, faces multiple charges after a former roommate discovered graphic video footage on a cellphone depicting the sexual assault of a toddler. Cranmer was arrested on July 8 and booked into the Ocean County Jail on charges including endangering the welfare of a child, manufacturing child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

The investigation began after Cranmer’s former roommate, identified in court records as “Ms. P,” discovered a 14-second video clip on a cellphone that Cranmer had returned to her. The footage, allegedly recorded via Snapchat on May 6, showed Cranmer laughing while acting inappropriately with a toddler who was in diapers.

Police Confirm Identity Through Tattoos

According to the criminal affidavit, the witness immediately saved the file, locked Cranmer out of the associated social media account, and contacted law enforcement. Police identified Cranmer in the footage through her distinct tattoos—including a specific marking on her leg—as well as her voice and the layout of her bathroom.

The victim, a two-year-old boy, was the son of a woman identified as “Ms. H,” for whom Cranmer had previously provided babysitting services. Following the initial discovery, investigators executed a search warrant on May 28, which led to the recovery of additional digital evidence.

Disturbing Patterns in Babysitting Care

Court documents allege that these subsequent videos captured further instances of abuse within the same bathroom setting. In one instance, the affidavit states that Cranmer was filmed sitting on a toilet with her genitals exposed while the child touched her. The child’s mother had reportedly grown concerned prior to the arrest, noting that her son had begun acting strangely and showed a sudden, intense dislike for the bathtub after spending time in Cranmer’s care. The mother later learned that the babysitter had been bathing herself with the child.

Active Legal Proceedings in Ocean County

Cranmer remains in custody at the Ocean County Jail. The case involves sensitive evidence, and court records have been heavily redacted to protect the identity of the minor victim. The charges of manufacturing and possessing child sexual abuse material, alongside the charge of endangering the welfare of a child, reflect the severity of the findings uncovered by law enforcement.

The investigation remains active as authorities process the digital evidence recovered during the execution of the search warrant.
