Cezeguzite Celebrates 55th Anniversary With New Album Pōls
The children’s vocal group Dzeguzīte marks its 55th anniversary this year by releasing a new album titled Pōls, created alongside singer Normunds Rutulis, who is also celebrating his 55th birthday, nra.lv reported. The release features nine compositions written by Māra Lasmanis with lyrics by Pēteris Brūvers and his daughter, Zane Brūvere-Kvēpa.
Rutulis handled the album’s production, arrangement, recording engineering, and publishing. The project blends various pop music styles into a narrative featuring characters such as a Rabbit, a Sheep and a Ram, an Elephant, a Translator, and Klimpermanis. The storyline establishes a fictional geographic point between the North Pole and the South Pole known as the Positive Pole, or Pōls.

The original tracklist also includes three remixes produced by Latvian beatmakers DJ Uga, Mart Inc., and Kriss Tap. Graphic artist Linda Rutule-Treimane designed the visual identity for the release.
The lead single, “Aita un Auns,” recorded with singer Patrisha—whose full name is Patrīcija Ksenija Cuprijanoviča—is accompanied by a music video. Jānis Romanovskis directed and operated the camera for the video under the WindFilms studio banner.
