Belgian Reality Show ‘Come to Eat’ Sees Olga Leyers Struggle with Oysters, Mohsin Abbas Share a Passion
The latest season of the Belgian reality show Komen Eten (Come to Eat) features comedian Mohsin Abbas, sport journalist Ruben Van Gucht, frituriste Dorien Nuyts and TV personality Olga Leyers as they embark on a culinary journey across Belgium. The show, which premiered on Play on March 2nd, 2026, has already delivered moments of both delight and discomfort for its participants.
Mohsin Abbas’s Oyster Dream Realized
For comedian Mohsin Abbas, appearing on Komen Eten was a long-held dream, particularly the opportunity to share his favorite oyster restaurant. In the third episode, the group visited De Oesterput in Oostende, a restaurant specializing in oysters, fulfilling Abbas’s wish.
Olga Leyers’s Unpleasant Encounter with Seafood
While Abbas celebrated his passion for oysters, Olga Leyers found the experience less enjoyable. Despite being persuaded by the group to try the local delicacy, Leyers struggled with the texture and taste, describing the sensation as “as if you were drowning in the sea” and ultimately spitting it out. She likened the feeling to having a tiny scallop in her mouth.
Ruben Van Gucht Hosts the First Dinner
The new season of Komen Eten began with Ruben Van Gucht hosting the first dinner at his home in Weert. Van Gucht is known for his orderly and clean home, maintaining a near-daily cleaning routine, which may have been tested by his guests, Dorien Nuyts, Olga Leyers, and Mohsin Abbas.
What to Expect from the Season
Each week, the four participants will take turns hosting, competing for the title of best host. The judging criteria extend beyond the food itself, encompassing the overall atmosphere and hospitality. Komen Eten airs every Monday through Thursday on Play.
