One Piece Expansion: New LEGO Sets, US Mugiwara Store, and Netflix Updates

One Piece is expanding its global footprint with the opening of the first official Mugiwara Store in the United States at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles this fall.

Mugiwara Store Brings Official Merchandise to Los Angeles

Toei Animation announced on July 3 that the franchise’s first official U.S.-based Mugiwara Store—named after the Japanese word for “Straw Hats”—will open in Los Angeles this fall. The store will be located within the Westfield Century City complex. According to the official announcement, the venue will feature location-exclusive products, original animation artwork, and dedicated in-store video experiences.

Netflix Live-Action Series: Season 3 Production and Timeline

Netflix has confirmed that production on the third season of the live-action One Piece adaptation wrapped as of June 30, 2026. The series has become one of the streamer’s biggest genre success stories.

While Netflix has not yet provided a specific premiere date, the company stated that new episodes will arrive in 2027. The upcoming season is expected to cover the Alabasta arc, a critical narrative stretch from the original manga and anime. Production for Season 3 began in November 2025, shortly after the season was greenlit in August 2025, following the success of Season 2 which premiered in March 2026.

WIT Studio to Lead “The One Piece” Anime Remake

Netflix and WIT Studio are developing a remake of the series, titled The One Piece, scheduled for an early 2027 debut. This project aims to modernize the storytelling and animation of the original series, which spans 1,167 episodes.

The original series released weekly episodes for two decades, oftentimes including various detours to avoid catching up to the manga source material. WIT Studio—known for work on Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga—is tasked with creating a “definitive” version of the story.

Upcoming LEGO Collaborations and Animated Specials

The franchise is further diversifying its media presence through a partnership with LEGO and additional streaming content:

• LEGO Sets: Following the initial August 2025 launch, six new sets inspired by the live-action series’ second season will hit shelves on August 1, 2026. These include Dr. Hiriluk’s Hideout, Garp’s Marine Battleship, and Drum Castle.
• Animated Special: Netflix will release a two-part animated special on September 29, 2026. According to a Netflix press release, the special features the character Usopp retelling the events of the first two live-action seasons to the recruit Tony Tony Chopper.
