Ottawa Man Charged After Fatal Carling Avenue Crash
An Ottawa man is facing impaired driving charges following a two-vehicle collision on Carling Avenue Wednesday evening that resulted in the death of a 52-year-old woman.
Details of the Crash
According to Ottawa police, the crash occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. On Carling Avenue near Ullswater Drive, close to Moodie Drive. A passenger van and a sedan were involved in the collision. CBC News and CTV News Ottawa both reported on the incident.
Victim and Suspect
Paramedics reported that the 52-year-old woman sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 31-year-old male driver of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Ottawa Citizen confirmed that next of kin have been notified, but the woman’s identity has not yet been released.

The 31-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death. Ottawa police stated, “This incident is a heartbreaking reminder that impaired driving can have devastating, irreversible consequences.”
