Palmeiras and Flamengo Clash in Libertadores Final

Palmeiras and Flamengo face each other this saturday (29), at 6pm (Brasília time), at the Monumental “U” Stadium, in Lima, Peru. The duel is valid for the grand final of the Libertadores da América 2025.

Along with Eternal Glory, the winner of the confrontation becomes the greatest Brazilian champion in the competition with four titles. just like Palmeiras and Flamengo, São Paulo, Santos and Grêmio also have three cups.

to reach the final, the team led by Abel Ferreira went thru Universitario-PER, River Plate and LDU in the knockout stage. In the group stage, Verdão had the best campaign among the 16 teams that advanced.

The red and black team went through to the knockout stages after finishing second in their group. In the round of 16, Filipe Luís’ team beat Internacional. Afterwards, the team beat Estudiantes and Racing in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

How Palmeiras and Flamengo Reach the Final

Verdão arrives for the duel with three absences. Goalkeeper Weverton remains out due to a hand injury. Lucas Evangelista and Paulinho also do not play.

The Rio team also has important absences. Fla will not be able to count on the attacking duo Pedro and Plata,who traveled to Lima,but are out of the match.The former is recovering from a forearm injury, while the Ecuadorian was sent off in the semi-final. Léo Ortiz and Allan are also unlikely to act.

Another Final in Lima

This will be the second Libertadores final held in the Peruvian capital.Lima also hosted the competition’s first single-game decision, in 2019, with Flamengo winning the title over River Plate.
