Pixel Watch Health Tracking Issues Following March Update
Google’s March 2025 Pixel Feature Drop has introduced issues for some Pixel Watch users, specifically impacting SpO2 (blood oxygen) and skin temperature tracking. Reports indicate that these health metrics are disappearing from the Fitbit app for affected users.
User Reports and Affected Models
Several users have reported the issue on online forums, including Reddit, Google Support, and the Fitbit community forum, as first noted by 9to5Google. The problem appears to be isolated to those who have updated to the latest March build, suggesting it’s not a server-side issue. Users are experiencing a blank space where their SpO2 and skin temperature data should be displayed.
Alongside the missing health metrics, some users have also reported other issues, including doubled calorie burn estimations and decreased battery life. The issue has been reported across all Pixel Watch generations. Pixel Watch 1 users, lacking skin temperature sensing, are primarily reporting the disappearance of blood oxygen readings.
Potential Workarounds
While an official fix is not yet available, users have found some temporary workarounds:
- Clear Fitbit App Cache: Navigate to Settings > Apps > All apps > Fitbit > Storage and cache > Clear cache.
- Reset the Watch: A factory reset of the Pixel Watch has reportedly resolved the issue for some users.
- Re-Setup as New Device: Fitbit support recommends setting up the Pixel Watch as a new device within the Fitbit app.
Pixel Watch Lineup and Recent Developments
The Pixel Watch, designed and marketed by Google, integrates closely with Fitbit, which Google acquired in 2021. The Pixel Watch 4, released in March 2026, features a brighter, larger display and up to 40 hours of battery life. The Pixel Watch 3, released in 2024, boasts a 45mm screen that is twice as bright and 40% larger than previous models.
Recent updates to the Pixel Watch, including the August 20, 2025 feature drop highlighted by YouTube, have added features like satellite SOS emergency assistance.
