Prabowo Grants 4,000 Meters of Land Near HI Roundabout for Islamic Groups

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Prabowo Subianto stated that he had provided 4,000 square meters of land in front of the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout, Central Jakarta, for the establishment of offices for Muslim bodies.

This was conveyed by Prabowo when delivering a briefing at the joint prayer event and inauguration of the management MUI 2025-2030 at the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, Saturday (7/2/2026).

“Today I can say that as President of the Republic of Indonesia, I have provided land in front of the HI Roundabout of approximately 4,000 meters for buildings for the MUI and for Muslim bodies,” said Prabowo, Monday.

He detailed that the agency was the National Zakat Amil Agency (Baznas), the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and Islamic community organizations (ormas) that need space to operate.

He said that a multi-storey building would be built on the land depending on the decision of the Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar.

“We will build a building up to the Minister of Religion in how many tens of floors. The plan is how many? How much? Forty floors,” said Prabowo.

The former Minister of Defense (Menhan) further said that the land was Nasaruddin’s request when he met him some time ago.

In his request, Nasaruddin said that the MUI did not have a definite office. Prabowo even admitted that he did not know where the MUI office was located.

“His request as Minister of Religion conveyed, Sir, that it is not clear where the MUI office is now. I’m sorry, I don’t know exactly where the MUI office is,” he said.

Meanwhile, through this decision, he guaranteed that the offices of Islamic institutions would be in the heart of the capital city of Jakarta, right near the “Welcome” statue.

“At the HI Roundabout there shouldn’t just be luxury hotels. Don’t just have malls, there will be buildings that will be used for institutionsMuslim institutions,” said Prabowo.
