The 2001 Photograph and Virginia Giuffre’s Allegations
A photograph taken in 2001 by Epstein himself depicts Mountbatten-Windsor with Virginia Giuffre, then 17 years traditional, and Ghislaine Maxwell. The image, which surfaced publicly a decade later, shows Mountbatten-Windsor with his arm around Giuffre. Wendy Murphy, a former sex crimes prosecutor, stated the pose had “no innocent explanation.”
Giuffre later claimed she was trafficked by Epstein and Maxwell and sexually abused by Mountbatten-Windsor on three occasions. Mountbatten-Windsor consistently denied these allegations, initially claiming the photograph may have been doctored. However, emails released in 2025 appeared to contradict this claim.
In 2022, Mountbatten-Windsor settled a civil case brought by Giuffre in Recent York. The settlement contained no admission of liability or apology.
The 2010 Central Park Meeting
In 2010, a photograph emerged of Mountbatten-Windsor strolling through Central Park with Epstein, two years after Epstein’s conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.
Mountbatten-Windsor later stated he visited Epstein to end their association, believing it was the “honourable thing to do.” However, an email surfaced revealing he wrote to Epstein after the Giuffre photograph became public, stating, “We are in this together” and suggesting they “play some more soon.”
Newly Released Images
In February 2026, the U.S. Justice Department released over 3 million documents related to the Epstein case, including previously unseen photographs of Mountbatten-Windsor. These images depict him crouching over an unidentified woman lying on the floor, with his hand on her stomach in one photo and his hands resting on her torso in another. The images are undated and their context remains unclear.
Arrest on Suspicion of Misconduct in Public Office
On Thursday, February 20, 2026, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. This marks the first arrest of a senior royal in modern history. He was released under investigation after more than 10 hours in police custody.
