Hockey Québec Confirms AAA Structure for 2026-2027 Season
Hockey Québec and the Ligue de hockey d’excellence du Québec (LHEQ) have announced the structure for the AAA classes for the 2026-2027 season. The U18 AAA women’s circuit will maintain its current composition of eight franchises, while the M13 AAA and M15 AAA classes will also remain consistent.
Participation Contingency for Stars 55
The participation of Stars 55 – Mauricie – Centre-du-Québec in the M13 AAA and M15 AAA categories is contingent upon the results of a pre-evaluation camp scheduled for late April. This camp will assess the player pool to determine if competitive teams can be formed in the region. Specific details regarding the camp, including dates and requirements, will be communicated directly by the franchise.
Stability for Other Franchises
All other franchises will maintain their current participation levels for the upcoming season. This decision provides predictability for organizations, families and athletes as they plan for the 2026-2027 season.
Rationale for Early Confirmation
Given recent changes within the women’s hockey structure, Hockey Québec prioritized confirming the direction for the next season to offer clarity and stability to all stakeholders. This proactive approach aims to facilitate planning and preparation for the upcoming year.
