Rapper Yang Hong-won Posts Drake Lyrics Amid Infidelity Claims and Unfollowed Social Media Accounts

Rapper Yang Hong-won shared a replay video of Drake’s track “WNBA” on his Instagram account on October 31, drawing public attention amid ongoing allegations of infidelity and social media fallout with his wife, chosun.com reported.

The social media post arrived shortly after Yang married model-turned Won Hyun-joo on October 18 in Seoul, following a relationship of over eight years. The couple registered their marriage in 2023 and welcomed a daughter, Rua, in November 2024, sharing aspects of their family life through a joint parenting diary channel. However, just five days after the wedding ceremony, an acquaintance identified as A publicly alleged that Yang visited an accommodation facility with another woman, B.

Yang’s agency acknowledged that the rapper visited the facility with B, but denied any romantic involvement. According to the agency’s statement reported by global.specialtimes.co.kr, Yang went to the motel to find a place to sleep while heavily intoxicated, and the woman accompanied him because she had nowhere else to go. The whistleblower A initially claimed financial motives for the disclosure after being refused a loan of 300,000 Korean won, later modifying their statement to clarify that they saw Yang and B enter the building together without knowing if an affair actually took place.

Cryptic Lyrics and Deleted Wedding Remarks

The Drake song “WNBA,” featured in Yang’s October 31 Instagram story, originates from the artist’s 11th regular album Habiti released in May, which debuted at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track’s lyrics touch on themes of unstable relationships, insecurity, and growing suspicion. Global.specialtimes.co.kr noted that the shared video included lines translating to “It feels like we are drifting apart,” alongside other verses about wanting to see a partner in person to resolve unaddressed issues.

Amid the controversy, Won Hyun-joo and Yang unfollowed each other on social media, and their shared parenting diary channel has stopped publishing content. Speculation surrounding the marriage intensified after Yang deleted a controversial caption from his wedding day. On October 18, Yang posted wedding photos alongside the remark, “It still feels like entering a motel in Cheonho-dong,” which sparked immediate backlash. While the photos remain on his account, the text has since been removed.

Public Appearances and Unresolved Questions

Despite the online controversy and the suspension of the couple’s joint parenting channel, videos have emerged showing Yang attending a Halloween party until dawn. Footage captured the rapper smiling and greeting fans, as well as celebrating Swings’ nomination for the Blue Dragon Film Awards’ Best New Actor. These public sightings led some observers to argue that the social media post of the Drake song was merely a casual share of music rather than an intentional message.

Unresolved questions remain regarding the exact status of Yang and Won’s marriage. Neither Yang nor Won Hyun-joo has issued a comprehensive personal statement clarifying their relationship status following the unfollowing on Instagram and the cessation of their family channel. Further updates depend on whether the couple releases an official joint statement or resumes their online presence.
