‘Rent’ Revival Announces Equity Auditions in New York City
The Weston Theater Company is holding Equity auditions for its upcoming production of Jonathan Larson’s iconic musical, Rent. Auditions will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Actors’ Equity New York Audition Center in New York City.

Contract: LORT Non-Rep ($889 weekly minimum – LORT D) with health, pension, transportation, and lodging provided.
Seeking
The production is seeking Equity chorus singers who are strong rock singers and dancers, aged 18 and older. Performers of all gender identities and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Roles include ensemble members portraying characters such as homeless individuals, addicts, parents (Mrs. Cohen, Mr. & Mrs. Jefferson), and members of a support group (Steve, Gordon).
Preparation
Auditionees should prepare a brief (approximately 30 seconds) pop/rock or theatre-rock song in the style of the Rent score. An accompanist will be provided. Bring a headshot and resume to the audition.

Creative Team
The production will be directed and choreographed by Michael Berresse, with music direction by Larry Pressgrove. Casting is by Michael Cassara, CSA. Susanna Gellert serves as the Executive Artistic Director.
