Grand Cœur Lyonnais Gains Ground in Lyon Métropole Elections
The first round of the Lyon Métropole elections has seen the Grand Cœur Lyonnais list, led by Véronique Sarselli (DVC-DVD), take an early lead, securing victories in four circonscriptions. While the overall picture remains complex, the results set the stage for a competitive second round.
Rhône-Amont: A Tight Race
The Rhône-Amont circonscription, considered a key battleground, is proving to be a closely contested area. Grand Cœur Lyonnais currently holds a lead with 31.7% of the vote, followed by Hélène Geoffroy’s Avançons-ensemble list at 24%. The Rassemblement National (RN) is also expected to advance with 16.8% of the vote and the strategy of La France Insoumise (FI), which garnered 14.8%, will be crucial in determining the final outcome. This circonscription featured a total of nine lists competing for seats.
Strong Performance in the West
Véronique Sarselli and the Grand Cœur Lyonnais list achieved a significant win in the West circonscription, capturing 60.7% of the votes and winning 8 out of 9 seats.
Looking Ahead
With four circonscriptions already secured, Grand Cœur Lyonnais has established a strong position in the Lyon Métropole elections. However, the outcome remains uncertain, particularly in the six Lyon circonscriptions where competition is fierce. The second round will be critical in determining the final composition of the Métropole council.
