RTÉ Star Reveals Handbag Stolen in Car Break-In: Full Story from Sunday World

RTÉ star tells how her handbag was stolen after car break-in Katja Mia has spoken of her relief after she got her expensive designer handbag back after it was stolen from her car. The RTÉ presenter, who announced earlier this month she’s joining 2FM and departing the Six O’Clock Show on Virgin Media, was the victim of a break-in at her apartment block. “My car was broken into,” she told her social media followers. “I park in a private carpark of my apartment area, and you need a fob to get in. So I don’t know how [the thief] got in. But anyway, a man got in, and broke into my car using a fire extinguisher.” Katja admitted that since she was helping her dad get into her apartment, she had left her bag in the car — and had no idea that her car had been broken into until the next day. “So the break-in happens Sunday night, come Monday, I’m still unaware that the car has been vandalised,” she added, before she was told that a member of the Gardaí had her stolen bag — although she thought that she had lost her bag in town. Katja said that she hadn’t even realised someone broke in to her car until the next morning, with her bag being returned after the thief tried to sell the bag on Dublin’s Moore Street. “An hour or two later I’m going down to my car, because I need to drive it somewhere, and that’s when I realised that it was broken into….”
