Villanova Women’s Tennis Defeats Saint Joseph’s 7-0
PHILADELPHIA – The Villanova women’s tennis team secured a dominant 7-0 victory over Saint Joseph’s University at the Legacy Tennis Center on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, extending their winning streak to five consecutive matches.
How It Happened
The Wildcats demonstrated their strength across all fronts, securing victories in both doubles and singles play. Elena Fleming and June Tronhus of Saint Joseph’s put up a strong fight in the second doubles flight, reaching a 5-5 tie before the match went unfinished. However, Villanova ultimately claimed the doubles point.
In singles competition, Wiktoria Czerny of Saint Joseph’s won the first set of her match but ultimately fell in three sets. Elena Fleming also won her first set in the fifth flight, but was defeated in a supertiebreaker. June Tronhus battled back from a set down to force a third set, but ultimately lost her match.
