Sean “Diddy” Combs is allegedly living a life of luxury inside Fort Dix federal correctional facility in New Jersey, spending thousands of dollars a month to secure contraband items, personal servants, and special privileges while serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related offenses. Four men who spent time in the same housing unit detailed the music mogul’s prison lifestyle to NBC News, describing an environment where rules are routinely bypassed through financial incentives and smuggled goods.

Inside the New Jersey Federal Prison

Combs arrived at Fort Dix following his July 2025 sentencing, where he was cleared of more severe racketeering and sex-trafficking charges. Shortly after his transfer, the 56-year-old former hip-hop producer established a network of low-security inmates who handle daily chores like cooking, cleaning, making his bed, and washing his clothes, according to the sources who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

To maintain these living arrangements, money is funneled from associates outside the facility directly into the prison commissary accounts of incarcerated individuals who provide services. Inmates reportedly prepare specialized meals for Combs, including chicken, curry, pizza, and empanadas, while another prisoner gives him regular Chinese-style massages.

Contraband Electronics and Smuggled Alcohol

Despite strict federal prison regulations, Combs allegedly maintains access to prohibited communication devices and media. NBC News reported that the Bad Boy founder uses unauthorized mobile phones to browse Instagram and view explicit photographs sent by a former romantic partner. He also acquired a jailbroken tablet used to watch movies and documentary series, including the Netflix production Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

Over the weekends, Combs and a select circle of fellow inmates allegedly consume high-end alcohol smuggled into the facility by guards. According to statements shared with NBC News and corroborated by reporting from The New York Post, the group partakes in bottles of Hennessy brought in past security checkpoints. One anonymous prisoner summed up the facility’s underground economy by stating that inmates can acquire almost anything inside except for a front door key and a woman.

Prescription Medication Black Market

Beyond electronics and alcohol, Combs reportedly participates in the prison’s underground pill economy. Sources told NBC News that he pays for Remeron, a prescription antidepressant and anti-anxiety medication, which he acquires for other inmates who receive it legally. The drug—commonly referred to in the facility as “rem-roms”—trades actively on the prison black market, where incarcerated individuals buy and sell pharmaceutical supplies outside official medical distribution.
