Selena Harris-Miranda Dominates as Florida Gymnastics Reaches New Heights
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators gymnast Selena Harris-Miranda has been named both the Inside Gymnastics National Gymnast of the Week and the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Gymnast of the Week, following a stellar performance against LSU. Her achievements highlight a record-breaking season for the Gators gymnastics team.
Record-Breaking All-Around Performance
Harris-Miranda led the nation with an all-around score of 39.85 in Florida’s victory over No. 2 LSU on Sunday. This score is the second-highest all-around score recorded nationally this season. The meet itself featured an exceptionally competitive field, with all five all-around competitors achieving scores between 39.65, and 39.85, each ranking among the top 10 nationally for the weekend.
Perfect 10 on Beam
A standout moment of the meet was Harris-Miranda’s perfect 10.0 on the balance beam. This marked the 96th overall perfect 10 in the University of Florida’s 54 seasons of gymnastics and the 19th perfect 10 on beam. She is one of only three gymnasts in the nation to achieve a perfect 10 on the beam this season.
Consistent Excellence Across Events
Harris-Miranda’s consistency extended beyond the beam, as she too earned a score of 9.95 in the other three events. She currently leads the 2026 Gators team with 14 event titles.
National Rankings
As of the March 9 Road to Nationals rankings, Harris-Miranda holds the No. 2 position in beam (9.960 NQS), is tied for No. 6 in vault (9.925), and is tied for No. 20 in bars (9.910).
SEC Recognition and Team Success
This is the fifth SEC Gymnast of the Week award of Harris-Miranda’s career and her second of 2026. She previously earned three such awards in 2025 during her first season with the Gators. She also claimed the SEC Specialist of the Week award in the first two weeks of the 2026 season. Other Florida gymnasts recognized this season include Skye Blakely (SEC Specialist of the Week, Weeks 4 and 8) and Riley McCusker (SEC Specialist of the Week, Week 3). LSU’s Kaliya Lincoln was named SEC Specialist of the Week, and Alabama’s Azaraya Ra-Akbar earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
