Setvika, Meløy, Norway – Two individuals were transported to the hospital following a traffic accident that occurred in Setvika, Meløy municipality, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The incident involved a single vehicle leaving the roadway and colliding with a rock face.

Details of the Incident

Norwegian authorities were alerted to the accident and dispatched emergency services to the scene. According to operations leader June Strand, police were notified and a patrol was sent to investigate. “We currently have little information. We have a long way to go, but we are on our way,” Strand stated to AN.

By 7:18 PM local time, ambulance personnel had arrived and were in contact with those involved in the accident. The road was temporarily closed in both directions near the Glomfjord tunnel, causing traffic disruptions.

Injuries and Road Closure

At 8:27 PM, police confirmed that both individuals involved in the accident were conscious and being transported to a hospital for further medical attention. Operations leader Jensen confirmed their conscious state.

Recovery efforts were initiated, with a tow truck arriving at the scene to remove the vehicle. By 8:50 PM, authorities announced that the road had been reopened to traffic.

Police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
