Ukraine is holding consultations on how to determine the date of its accession to the EU, and the agreement must also take into account other candidate countries. This was stated to journalists by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sibyga in Munich, answering questions from European Pravda.
The minister stressed that the public demands of Ukraine to fix the date of accession to the EU in documents are realistic.
“All these talks are realistic. Ukraine openly puts forward the requested positions, which we rely on,” he said.
According to him, the negotiations on the scheme for setting such a date are based on the fact that we are talking not only about the accession of Ukraine, but also about a new security structure: “For us, our membership in the EU is an element of security guarantees, therefore we are now actively consulting with our European partners.”
