Snohomish County Sports Tourism Reaches New Heights with $42 Million Economic Impact

Snohomish County, Washington, experienced a record-breaking year for sports tourism in 2025, generating an impressive $42 million in economic impact. The success is attributed to hosting over 150 sports tournaments and welcoming more than 230,000 visitors to the region, resulting in nearly 43,000 room nights booked.

A Record Year for Snohomish County Sports

The Snohomish County Sports Commission played a pivotal role in attracting a diverse range of events, with a record 37 different sports featured across 12 communities. This surge in activity underscores the county’s growing reputation as a premier sports destination.

Esports Gains Recognition

The Washington State Scholastic Esports Association’s 2025 Spring State Championships, hosted at the Lynnwood Event Center, received the Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism award from Sports Destination Management. The event featured 32 high school teams competing in Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, and Valorant.

Hall of Fame Nominations Open
