Sony Expands BRAVIA Theater Lineup with New Home Audio and TV Options

Sony has unveiled a comprehensive expansion of its BRAVIA Theater home audio lineup, alongside the introduction of new BRAVIA 3 II and Bravia 2 II televisions. The new products, launched under the “Cinema is Coming Home” vision, aim to deliver a more immersive and powerful home cinema experience, offering consumers a modular approach to building their ideal home theater system. The lineup includes soundbars, subwoofers, rear speakers, and updated television models, designed to cater to a range of budgets, and preferences.

BRAVIA Theater Soundbars: A Modular Approach

The new lineup features two primary soundbar options: the BRAVIA Theater Bar 7 and the BRAVIA Theater Bar 5. The BRAVIA Theater Bar 7 is positioned as an upper-midrange option, designed as a foundational building block for a modular system. It boasts nine speaker drivers, including up-firing and side-firing speakers to create a wider sound field. Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping (360SSM) technology provides immersive, cinema-style surround sound with room calibration for an optimized listening experience. The BRAVIA Theater Bar 5 is a 3.1 channel system paired with a wireless subwoofer, offering a balance of performance and value.

Both soundbars support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for enhanced audio fidelity , and are compatible with the BRAVIA Connect app for smartphone control of volume, sound profiles, and advanced settings. When paired with compatible BRAVIA TVs, users can also leverage Voice Zoom 3 for clearer dialogue.

Expanding the Soundscape: Subwoofers and Rear Speakers

To further enhance the audio experience, Sony is also releasing a range of optional subwoofers and rear speakers. The subwoofer options include the premium BRAVIA Theater Sub 9, the standard BRAVIA Theater Sub 8, and the compact BRAVIA Theater Sub 7. The BRAVIA Theater Sub 9 features dual opposing drivers to reduce distortion and deliver powerful bass, while the Sub 8 offers a single large driver unit. The Sub 7 provides a slim design for flexible placement. Dual subwoofer play is supported with compatible models.

The BRAVIA Theater Rear 9 wireless rear speakers are equipped with up-firing speakers to elevate rear-channel performance and enhance the 360 Spatial Sound experience.

BRAVIA 3 II and Bravia 2 II TVs: Visual Enhancements

Alongside the audio upgrades, Sony is expanding its BRAVIA TV range with the BRAVIA 3 II LED TV, available in sizes up to 100 inches. The BRAVIA 3 II utilizes the XR Processor found in Sony’s premium TVs and XR Triluminos Pro technology to deliver a wide color gamut and refined detail. A new entry-level Bravia 2 II is also available in sizes from 43 to 75 inches.

The BRAVIA 3 II supports 4K 120Hz and features four HDMI 2.1 ports, making it suitable for gaming. It also incorporates the newly designed Inclusive Remote Control, developed with accessibility in mind, featuring optimized button design and a Remote Finder function.

Google TV with Gemini Integration

Sony’s new BRAVIA TVs integrate with Google TV and now feature Gemini, allowing users to engage in conversational searches and control smart home devices directly from their television. This integration aims to simplify content discovery and provide a more intuitive user experience.
