An Unfiltered Look into the Intimate World of Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing

They believed they had a handle on things, but reality quickly took over. Just days before the launch of their documentary series Raising Chelsea on Disney+, Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing, well-known figures from Made in Chelsea, are offering a glimpse into their most life-altering experience: becoming parents. The three-part series chronicles the journey of anticipation, doubts, laughter, and moments of panic leading up to the arrival of their first child.

When the Camera Captures the Unexpected

In this candid story, one segment almost didn’t make the cut: the childbirth scene. Sophie, typically private about her personal life, admits she initially hesitated to allow cameras into such an intimate moment. “I didn’t want to film that, it was too personal,” she shared, her voice still filled with emotion. However, life often has its own plans.

The turning point? A spontaneous gesture from her anesthesiologist, who, amidst the chaos of the delivery room, instinctively reached for his phone to capture every second. “We ended up with the entire birth film on my cell phone. Looking back at the images, we were overwhelmed with emotion. It was the happiest day of our lives, and we realized: this is the real story,” Sophie explained.

Authenticity, Vulnerability, and Courageous Choices

Jamie Laing has always been open about his desire to share his life. For Sophie, this decision stemmed from a belief that “Showing real life also means showing your flaws, your fears, your tears.” This moment of raw honesty, unexpected and profound, lends the series a unique strength, moving beyond the typical glamour of reality television.

The couple, who welcomed their son Ziggy in December 2025, offer viewers a sincere exploration of the rollercoaster that is parenthood. Raising Chelsea promises to resonate with anyone who has experienced – or dreams of experiencing – this extraordinary adventure, filled with bursts of laughter, moments of anguish, and overwhelming tenderness.

“Jamie and Sophie: Raising Chelsea” is produced by Dorothy St Pictures, in association with Jampot Productions, the team behind “Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story” and “Pamela, A Love Story” (Disney+).
