Stade Lavallois Faces Challenges with Key Players Ahead of Grenoble Match
Stade Lavallois will be without several key players when they face Grenoble on Friday, March 20th, in a Ligue 2 match. Central defender Yohan Tavares is sidelined due to Achilles tendinitis, joining Joseph Layousse Samb (foot fracture) and Trévis Dago (muscle injury) as unavailable players, according to coach Olivier Frapolli.
Tavares’ Injury and Team Impact
Yohan Tavares, 38, has been limited to a substitute role since February. The tendinitis pain has become unbearable, preventing his participation in the upcoming match. Tavares has made 96 appearances for Laval since joining the club in 2022, currently playing as a central defender for the French Ligue 2 club Yohan Tavares.
Other Player Updates
Good news for Laval as Mattéo Commaret returns to the squad after missing the trip to Montpellier due to hamstring discomfort. Julien Maggiotti and Thibaut Vargas are also available following toe and knee injuries, respectively, and have been training normally. Though, Frapolli indicated it’s unlikely they will start the match.
International Call-Ups
Three Stade Laval players have received international call-ups following the Grenoble match. Cyril Mandouki will join Martinique for friendly matches against Cuba on March 26th and El Salvador on March 29th. Mamadou Samassa and Mamadou Camara of Mali will face Russia on March 31st in Saint Petersburg. Ylies Aradj was approached by Algeria’s U23 team, but an official invitation is still pending.
