Notepad Gets a Major Update with Table Support and Enhanced AI Features
Microsoft began distributing a new update for Notepad (version 11.2510.6.0) for Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels, introducing some of the biggest improvements seen in the app in years. This update expands formatting capabilities and enhances the experience with AI features, bringing the traditional notepad closer to a more modern and versatile editor.
The main novelty is the incorporation of table support,allowing organized structures to be inserted directly into documents. Users will be able to add tables from the new option in the format bar or using Markdown syntax.
Once created, it will be possible to edit rows and columns from the context menu or toolbar, facilitating advanced organization of notes, lists or simple data without the need for other applications.
To use all of these AI-powered features, you need to sign in with a Microsoft account.
The update also improves the AI features built into Notepad – Write, Rewrite y Summarize – incorporating streaming responses.
