In conversation with El Esquiú Play, teacher Luis Pelisari shared that he’s approaching a new year of summer colonies with “gratitude for health, desire, and opportunities.” This season, he’s working simultaneously at Las Rejas and Catamarca Rugby, in a “pilot” programme already receiving a strong response from families.

“Both clubs are incredible. Las rejas has been extensively renovated, and Catamarca Rugby added a new carpet to the hockey field. This allows us to offer activities in safe, cozy, and outdoor spaces.“,he explained.

Pelisari emphasized that a primary concern for parents is getting children away from digital routines. “parents are at a loss: kids are on the Play, cell phone, or tablet all day. we offer a space where they can disconnect, interact with peers, and rediscover the joy of physical activity and creative play.”

What to Expect at the Colonies

The colonies offer a diverse range of activities designed to appeal to different interests. These typically include:

  • Sports: Soccer, basketball, volleyball, and more.
  • Arts and Crafts: Painting, drawing, sculpting, and handmade projects.
  • Games and Recreation: Outdoor games, team-building exercises, and playful competitions.
  • Nature Activities: Exploring the outdoors, learning about the environment, and engaging in ecological awareness.

Pelisari highlighted the importance of a balanced program. “we don’t just focus on sports. We want to stimulate creativity, encourage teamwork, and foster a love for nature. It’s about providing a holistic experience that contributes to their overall development.”
