Truffle Festival Returns to Castiglion Fiorentino in March 2026
Castiglion Fiorentino, a town in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, will host the annual TartufiAmo festival from March 27th to 29th, 2026. The event, dedicated to the celebration of truffles and traditional Tuscan cuisine, will take place at the Circolo della Noceta, located in the Rione Cassero area. Eventi Italiani reports that the festival promises three days of authentic flavors and gastronomic excellence.
A Celebration of Tuscan Gastronomy
TartufiAmo will offer visitors the opportunity to savor dishes prepared with genuine truffles, a highly prized ingredient in Italian cooking. The festival will showcase the versatility of truffles in Tuscan cuisine, featuring traditional preparations such as pasta with truffle, truffle lasagna, eggs with truffle, and bruschetta with truffle. Meat dishes, including steak, sliced meats, and roasted ham, will also be served with truffle.
For those who prefer alternatives, the festival will also offer pizzas and other dishes like penne with ragu and sliced meat with rosemary.
The Cassero District and its Historical Significance
The festival is held in the Rione Cassero district, dominated by the Cassero complex and its tower. Visit Tuscany highlights that the Cassero complex is a key landmark and symbol of Castiglion Fiorentino, overlooking the Valdichiana Aretina valley. The area’s history dates back to the 8th century B.C., evolving from an Etruscan settlement to a medieval castle and a modern-day cultural hub. Visit Valdichiana Aretina notes that climbing to the Cassero is like traveling through time, experiencing the history of Castiglion Fiorentino from its Etruscan origins to the present day.
