Temple Owls Gymnastics Soars to Season-High Score Against Eastern Michigan
PHILADELPHIA, PA – February 20, 2026 – The Temple University gymnastics team achieved a season-best score of 194.575 in a dual meet against Eastern Michigan University on Wednesday evening. The Owls outperformed the Eagles, who finished with a score of 193.000.
Owls Dominate on Vault and Beam
Temple started strong with a 48.675 on vault, led by freshman Jade Harden’s impressive 9.800. Fellow freshman Ava Sutphen also contributed a career-high 9.750. Amelia Budd continued to excel, marking her seventh vault score of 9.750 or higher, solidifying her position as a top vaulter in the Eastern Athletic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Conference.
The Owls continued their momentum on the beam, earning a season-high score of 48.575. Junior Hailey Best led the team with a 9.800, while sophomore Robyn Dunne added a 9.750. Nikki Rengifo extended her streak to four consecutive meets with a beam score of 9.625 or higher, achieving a 9.725 on Wednesday.
DeHaan Leads as Sole Senior
Senior Reese DeHaan, the team’s only senior, played a crucial role in the Owls’ success. DeHaan scored a 9.675 on bars, the third-highest score for Temple on that event. She was recently honored at Senior Night on February 13th, where the team competed in a quad meet against William & Mary, Brown and Yale as reported by Owlsports.com.
“I feel like this team or the team dynamic last year was very different from last year cause last year we had so many seniors so I feel like Reese has just grown so much to her role as our leader for the team this year,” DeHaan stated.
Bars and Floor Performances
On bars, Robyn Dunne shone, posting a 9.850, the highest score of the night for both Temple and Eastern Michigan. Junior Megan White tied her season high with a 9.725.
Temple concluded the meet with a strong performance on the floor, scoring 48.825. Jade Harden competed on floor for the first time, earning a 9.750, alongside fellow freshmen Ella Beck and Brooklyn Thomas. Amelia Budd continued her impressive form, achieving a 9.800 or higher for the third consecutive week.
