Elena Sofia Ricci Leads the Final Episodes of Teresa Battaglia on Rai 1
Elena Sofia Ricci returns to Rai 1 on November 2, 2026, to conclude the third season of The cases of Teresa Battaglia, titled Daughter of the ashes. The final broadcast features episodes 3×07 and 3×08, bringing the profiling drama to its climax. The narrative shifts focus from routine investigation to a deeply personal hunt as the profiler Teresa Battaglia confronts an escaped killer linked directly to her own history.
Escape and Discovery in Episode 3×07
The seventh episode opens with the serial killer evading custody and fleeing into the countryside using a stolen firearm. Teresa Battaglia is the first investigator to reach the farmhouse where the fugitive stopped to treat his wounds. Inside, she discovers a message that concerns her. While the protagonist works to understand in what way, the mobile squad reconstructs the suspect’s childhood. Investigators uncover that the killer suffered from a physical deformity in his youth that was later corrected through surgery—the exact deformity he now mimics on the bodies of his victims. Further search operations lead the police to an abandoned farmhouse used as a base and laboratory, filled with drawings detailing the postures of the victims, allowing Battaglia to finally grasp the nature of the bond that unites her to the murderer.
The Aquileia Mosaic and Confrontation in Episode 3×08
Episode 3×08 centers on the connection between the killer and the paleocristiano mosaic housed in the Basilica of Aquileia. By analyzing the symbolism of the rituals, Battaglia identifies the location chosen for the final murder and moves in to confront the suspect. This showdown forces a secret bond between the two, which dates back to a distant night, to resurface. The broadcast concludes the series of four prime time evenings.
Open Questions and Future Speculation
Although the primary manhunt reaches its narrative conclusion in the final episode, unresolved threads linger regarding Teresa Battaglia’s personal life. The profiler is convinced that her ex-husband maintains unfinished business with the law. Rai 1 has not announced a fourth season.
