Youth under the age of 19 residing in the Three Points Region have until this Saturday to apply for a $500 entrepreneur funding opportunity introduced this year by the Three Points Economic Partnership.
The funding opportunity is open to anyone under 19 with a business or entrepreneurial idea who lives within the region, which encompasses Abbey, Hazlet, Cabri, and the Rural Municipalities of Pitville, Riverside, and Miry Creek. Applicants can compete to win $500 toward an entrepreneurship idea.
Program Goals and Sponsorship Details
Lindsay Alliban, economic development officer for the Village of Hazlet, explained the motivation behind the new initiative. As part of our action planning, we identified that we really want to inspire local youth, and part of that is giving them opportunities to express their interests,
she said.
We thought we’d start a program to help inspire kids early on to see the entrepreneurship options in the area and the opportunities they have to come back to our region to live and work,
Alliban added. The program is sponsored by 9 Mile Legacy Brewing and Minute Spraying, both of which were founded by local entrepreneurs.
Application Deadlines and Information
Although applications are scheduled to close this Saturday, Alliban noted that officials are still awaiting submissions. They have until the end of the month to apply, but we are still waiting for some applications to come in,
she stated. If we don’t receive any, we will likely extend the deadline by about a week, but we hope to see some more applications coming in this week.
Additional details, a complete list of rules, and the application form are available on the Three Points website or via Facebook.
