Tromso Match Halted After Stand Collapse Leaves Bodo/Glimt Fans Injured

The incident forced officials to halt Tromso’s fixture against Bodo/Glimt after roughly 40 goalless minutes.

Emergency services rushed to the stadium while away fans faced immediate evacuation from the affected area. Both teams retreated to their dressing rooms after Bodo goalkeeper Nikita Haikin gestured desperately toward the referee to stop play.

Norwegian broadcaster TV 2 displayed an on-screen message confirming the temporary suspension due to an accident in the stands. Norwegian outlet NRK reported that Bodo media manager Simen Pedersen revealed as many as five supporters fell through the structure.

One individual was transferred to hospital, while medical personnel assessed the remaining casualties on the ground. Pedersen confirmed that the supporter taken to hospital remained conscious following the collapse in the section housing roughly 600 visiting fans.

Bodo capitalized immediately after the restart, scoring the opening goal in the second minute of first-half added time.

Bodo sits second in the Eliteserien standings behind defending champions Viking on goals scored after 25 matches. A victory would propel Bodo to the top of the table ahead of their title rivals’ fixtures this weekend.

The four-time champions of Norway hold 25th place in the current Champions League phase following a 0-0 draw with Lille. Bodo previously suffered a narrow defeat to Napoli after securing a win against Borussia Dortmund, bouncing back from a 5-0 loss to Bayern Munich.

Tromso currently occupies sixth place in the Eliteserien table but could climb one position by overturning the deficit. The club finished third last season to secure a place in the Europa League qualifiers.

Tromso suffered defeat against Hradec Kralove of Czechia in the second round of qualifiers before losing 4-0 on aggregate to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Conference League play-off round. Only four matches remain in the league season, which concludes in mid-December.

Bodo requires assistance from Tromso after the upcoming international break when hosting Viking. The title challengers already faced Viking twice this league season, losing 5-0 away before securing a 3-2 victory late last month.
