Jakarta – US President Donald Trump announced a new heavily armed warship to be named after himself, teh trump Class. Naming a warship is an honor usually given to US leaders after leaving office.
Reported by AFP on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, two Trump-class ships will be built initially, but that number could increase substantially in the future. According to Trump,the ships will be “some of the deadliest surface warships” and “the largest warships in our country’s history.”
Trump made the proclamation at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, florida, alongside Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Navy Secretary John Phelan, with pictures of the planned high-tech ship on display nearby.
