Trump Says He Doesn’t Need Congress’ approval to Strike Venezuela

JakartaUnited States of America Donald trump stated he doesn’t need congressional approval to launch a ground attack against Venezuela. He said this on Thursday, December 18th, despite criticism that he’s already overstepped his constitutional authority with naval actions.

When a reporter asked if he’d seek approval from US lawmakers to attack drug cartels on land in teh latin American country, Trump said he wouldn’t have an issue with doing so.

“I don’t mind telling them, but you know, it’s not a big deal. I don’t have to tell them,” he said at the White House, according to the AFP news agency, on Friday, December 19, 2025.
