Trump Shares ‘SNL UK’ Sketch Mocking Keir Starmer

Former U.S. President Donald Trump shared a clip from the debut episode of “Saturday Night Live UK” on his Truth Social platform Sunday, featuring a sketch that pokes fun at both himself and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The 79-year-old politician posted the video without comment, according to Variety and Deadline.

The Sketch

The sketch, which aired on Sky One on Saturday, opens with a view of 10 Downing Street and features actor George Fouracres as Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside Hammed Animashaun as Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy. The scene depicts Starmer nervously attempting to avoid a phone call from President Trump.

“Oh golly – what if Donald shouts at me? What do I say, Lammy?” Starmer asks in the sketch. Lammy responds, “Just be yourself, Prime Minister. Yourself is who everyone likes.”

When Starmer answers the phone, a voice mimicking Trump is heard, prompting him to hang up and exclaim, “Oh sod that scary, scary, wonderful President. Why is he so bloody difficult to talk to?”

The sketch revolves around Starmer’s reluctance to commit to supporting a potential war initiated by Trump, with Lammy advising him to explain that the UK cannot send more ships to the Strait of Hormuz. Starmer expresses his aversion to conflict, leading to a humorous exchange about his desire to keep Trump happy.

The sketch also includes a reference to Liz Truss’s brief tenure as Prime Minister and introduces a “Gen Z” advisor, dubbed “Starmzy,” as a play on the name of rapper Stormzy, who offers Starmer advice on setting boundaries with Trump. The clip shared by Trump ends with Starmer stating, “I’ll do anything, except take a stand.”

Reaction and Additional Jokes

The debut episode of “Saturday Night Live UK” also featured jokes about other public figures, including the late Diana, Princess of Wales and Sir Winston Churchill, as reported by USA Today. A gag referencing Russell T Davies’ award-winning drama “It’s A Sin” being turned into a musical also appeared in the show.

TV producer Russell T Davies acknowledged the joke on Instagram, stating he “laughed a lot.”
