Ukraine Drone Attacks Target Russian Oil Refinery, Escalating Energy War

Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks on Russian territory, targeting oil infrastructure in the Krasnodar region. The attacks, reported by Russian state news agency TASS, come as negotiations for a potential end to the war are set to resume in Geneva, involving representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States.

Recent Attacks and Damage

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, TASS reported a fire broke out at an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region following a drone attack. Specifically, a storage facility at the Ilsky oil refinery sustained damage TASS. Russia claims to have intercepted at least 151 Ukrainian drones during the attacks TASS.
