Ukraine Weather Update: Warming Trend to Start February 23rd
A significant warming trend is expected to begin across most of Ukraine on February 23rd, according to weather forecaster Natalya Didenko. This shift in air mass will bring milder temperatures after a period of cold weather.
Current Temperatures (February 20th)
As of February 20th, nighttime temperatures in Ukraine are ranging from 6 to 12 degrees Celsius below zero, with colder temperatures of up to 14 degrees below zero in the north. Southern regions are experiencing milder nighttime temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees Celsius below zero. Daytime temperatures on February 20th are expected to be between minus 2 and minus 5 degrees Celsius, with temperatures ranging from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius in the south.
Precipitation
Snow is currently falling in central and eastern Ukraine. Other areas of the country are not experiencing significant precipitation. Kyiv is currently dry, with a nighttime temperature of minus 10 degrees Celsius and a daytime temperature of minus 2 degrees Celsius.
Weekend Outlook
While the warming trend begins on February 23rd, Saturday and Sunday nights will remain frosty, with temperatures dropping to minus 12 to minus 15 degrees Celsius.
