For the first time, Kiev has openly stated that it uses advanced ballistic missile systems provided by the United States.
Ukraine’s military said on Tuesday it had attacked military sites on Russian territory with US-supplied ATACMS missiles, calling the move a “meaningful development”, Reuters reported.
Ukraine has said openly for the first time that it is using advanced ballistic missile systems provided by the United States against targets on Russian soil, even though restrictions on it launching such attacks were lifted a year ago at the end of President Joe Biden’s administration.
The US has lifted a key restriction on Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles.
“The use of means of long-range strikes, including systems such as ATAKMS, will continue,” the statement of the General Staff of the Ukrainian army published on Tuesday said.
