Universal’s Texas Theme Park: Shrek, Spongebob & More Revealed

Global is unveiling all the new lands coming to its Texas theme park opening next year.

Located in Frisco,Texas,Universal Kids Resort is a “first-of-a-kind” amusement park and resort that’s “specifically designed” for families with young children, per its official website.

Universal Destinations & Experiences revealed in a Nov. 18 press release that the upcoming park will feature seven themed lands for guests to explore. the lands include DreamWorks’ shrek’s Swamp, Nickelodeon’s Bikini Bottom from SpongeBob SquarePants, and more.

Universal Destinations & Experiences recently unveiled Universal Epic Universe, a brand-new theme park designed with families and young thrill-seekers in mind.The park boasts five distinct themed lands,each offering unique rides and experiences.

Celestial Park, the heart of Epic Universe, welcomes guests with lush gardens, shimmering water features, and interactive experiences.For those looking to refuel, Goofy Goober’s offers a menu of chicken sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, and towering ice cream sundaes.

Beyond Celestial Park, adventure awaits in Jurassic World Adventure Camp, were the Cretaceous Coaster promises an action-packed journey through twists and turns. Illumination’s Minions vs.Minions: Bello Bay Club invites guests to test their skills at the spinning Bello Bay Golf Cart Derby, while DreamWorks’ TrollsFest hosts the energetic King Trollex Techno Dance Party.

DreamWorks’ puss in Boots Del mar offers a chance to soar on the Swings Over Del Mar ride, and the Isle of Curiosity promises even more exciting discoveries.

Universal’s Family-Focused Theme Park Coming to Frisco,texas in 2025

Universal destinations & Experiences is set to bring a brand-new theme park concept to Frisco,Texas,designed specifically for families with young children. The park, announced in January 2023, is slated to open in 2025 and promises an immersive experience centered around the wonder and joy of childhood.

The park’s core ideology, as described by Universal, is to capture “being a kid, the laughter, the curiosity, the courage to be unapologetically yourself, and in doing so, invites a new generation into the incredible thrills of Universal.”

A key attraction will be the “Isle of Curiosity” land, designed to spark inventiveness and exploration. To complement the park, Universal will also open the Universal Kids Resort Hotel, offering family-friendly accommodations with rooms capable of sleeping up to five or six guests, located just steps from the park entrance.

Universal Destinations & Experiences CEO Mark woodbury explained the decision to locate the park in Frisco, stating, “We looked all over the country to find the place to bring this entirely new concept and Frisco, in the heart of North Texas, rose to the top. It is a growing, vibrant city, centrally-located and appeals to families with young children, making it our choice to launch this unique universal Park concept specifically designed for them.”

This new park represents a important expansion for Universal,moving beyond its traditional thrill-ride focus to cater specifically to a younger audience.
