WhatsApp Testing Support for Three Accounts on One Device

WhatsApp is testing a new multi-account feature on iOS that expands device support from two simultaneous profiles to three, according to code discovered by WABetaInfo. The update aims to simplify profile management for users who split personal and professional conversations without requiring secondary smartphones or the separate WhatsApp Business application.

How the Three-Account Limit Works in Beta

According to the WABetaInfo report on iOS beta version 26.37.10.15, Meta’s messaging platform is developing an interface that accommodates up to three distinct phone numbers on a single handset. Each configured profile maintains independent chat histories, end-to-end encrypted message backups, notification preferences, and specific application settings while operating simultaneously on the same hardware.

When users access the account selector within the application settings, the interface displays all registered profiles complete with individual names, profile pictures, and associated phone numbers. The currently active profile is designated with a green checkmark indicator.

Development Timeline and Future Expansion

The multi-account expansion is currently confined to an early development build for Apple’s iOS platform and has not yet reached public beta testers. Meta has not yet confirmed an official release date for the broader rollout. Code analysis by WABetaInfo indicates that the underlying architecture could eventually support more than three accounts per device, though no further limits have been officially verified by the company.
