William Wallace: Strabane Community Mourns Loss

The community of Strabane, County Tyrone, is in mourning following the death of William Wallace, aged 87, on February 18th, 2026, at Altnagelvin Hospital. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Wallace’s passing has been met with widespread sadness.

Life and Family

William Wallace, formerly of Creggan, Derry, resided at 11 Bridge Street, Strabane. He is survived by his wife, Marian, and his children Liam (Sophie), Darren (Marie), Kerrie (Richard), and Natalie (Brian). He was predeceased by his children Lisa, and Gerard. Mr. Wallace was a cherished grandfather to Jamie, Niamh, Aoibeanna, Lisa, Aoife, Josie, Sean, Cahan, and Aaron. He is also survived by his brothers John, Charlie, and sisters Margaret, and was predeceased by his siblings Roy and Mary.

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing will take place at his daughter Natalie Wallace’s home, 4 Magirr Park, Strabane, on Thursday, February 19th, from 5:00 p.m. The funeral will commence on Saturday, February 21st, at 9:15 a.m., departing from his daughter’s home for Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Melmount, at 10:00 a.m. Following the Mass, interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

Remembrance

The family has requested that visitors respect family time between 10:00 p.m. And 11:00 a.m., and on the morning of the funeral. The family has expressed their deep sorrow and gratitude for the outpouring of support.
