Lenovo Legion Go to Receive Xbox Full Screen Experience Update
Lenovo is rolling out support for the Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) to its Legion Go handheld gaming devices, enhancing the Windows gaming experience for users. The update, initially available through beta testing, aims to provide a more streamlined and immersive gaming environment, similar to that found on the ASUS ROG Ally and MSI Claw.
What is the Xbox Full Screen Experience?
The Xbox Full Screen Experience, first introduced in June 2025, is a dedicated interface designed to optimize Windows handhelds for gaming. It boots directly into an Xbox-style home screen and minimizes background activity to maximize system resources for gameplay. Tom’s Hardware reports that Microsoft has been gradually expanding FSE support to various handhelds.
Legion Go Implementation
While Xbox FSE has been accessible on the Legion Go through unofficial mods and partial support, this latest update introduces native integration. Currently, the console-like UI requires manual enabling within Windows settings, specifically with the 25H2 update or through the Windows Insider program. The update primarily adds optimization features for those already using FSE, streamlining the process of launching it directly from Legion Space with a new toggle.
Early Access and Testing
Lenovo is currently offering early access to the Xbox FSE update through the Legion Gaming Community. VideoCardz reports that users can register for the beta program via a registration form. Ben Green, Senior Global Gaming & Creator Community Manager for Lenovo, announced the testing program on X (formerly Twitter). The sign-up period is limited, with entries closing approximately 45 hours from March 5, 2026.
Additional Features
Alongside the FSE integration, the update includes a new Legion Space widget within the Xbox Game Bar. This widget allows users to adjust thermal modes, vibration intensity, and RGB effects directly from the game bar, providing greater control over their gaming experience.
Availability
As of March 9, 2026, the Xbox FSE update for the Lenovo Legion Go is in its beta testing phase. A public release date has not yet been announced, but Lenovo is gathering feedback from testers to refine the experience before a wider rollout. Notebookcheck
