Barcelona, February 28, 2026 – Xiaomi and Leica Camera AG have jointly unveiled the Xiaomi 17 series, comprising the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17, marking the latest chapter in their technological partnership. The series aims to bring Leica’s signature image quality and design to mobile photography, focusing on natural colors, clear details and versatile camera systems.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Unleashing Creative Potential

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is designed for users seeking maximum creative freedom. It features a powerful mobile camera system capable of performing well in challenging lighting conditions. The device boasts a wide range of focal lengths, from wide-angle to telephoto perspectives. A key component is its large 1-inch sensor main camera, which ensures natural depth effects, clean details in low light, and a wide dynamic range. The camera excels in night photography and high-contrast scenes, controlling highlights and differentiating shadows for a natural gaze.

A new 200MP telephoto lens (75–100mm) offers flexibility for portraits and distant subjects. Based on the Leica APO standard, the lens minimizes color fringing and reproduces details precisely. The optical zoom range allows for clear images even at a distance, making it suitable for street, event, and travel photography.

Video capabilities include professional options like 4K recording at up to 120 frames per second, Dolby Vision®, and log profiles, ensuring consistent color grading and cinematic looks.

Leica Leitzphone: A Co-Designed Masterpiece

Alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi presents a special edition co-designed with Leica, the Leitzphone. This version features a minimalist industrial design with textured black and silver materials accented with red details. The aluminum alloy frame is ribbed for an enhanced grip, and a rotating ring around the camera allows for fine zoom control. The user interface also receives a Leica-themed makeover.
