Legendary Czech actor, writer, and playwright Zdeněk Svěrák will participate in a rally organized by the Million Moments for Democracy movement on Letná Plain in Prague this Saturday at 3:00 PM. The announcement was made by Million Moments on social media platforms X and Instagram on March 18, 2026.

Svěrák’s Long-Standing Support for Civic Engagement

Zdeněk Svěrák, known as a guardian of the legacy of Jára Cimrman, has a history of supporting Million Moments for Democracy, having previously spoken at an event in 2019. At that time, he described the gathering as a “celebration” and expressed optimism about a “waking up” of citizens, welcoming their “peaceful anger” against the then-government of Andrej Babiš according to Parlamentní listy.

The nearly 90-year-old actor has been actively involved in Czech civic society for years. Before the 2023 presidential elections, Svěrák voiced his support for Petr Pavel.
