Zoe Mesuch Dominates Patriot League, Secures Third Rookie of the Week Honor
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy freshman guard Zoe Mesuch has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive time, the league announced on Monday. Mesuch’s outstanding performance has been a key factor in Navy’s success, as the Midshipmen continue to build momentum in Patriot League play.
Mesuch’s Recent Performances
Mesuch’s recent success comes after strong showings against Bucknell and Colgate. Against Bucknell on Wednesday, she shot 42.9% from the field, including three three-pointers, contributing 17 points, three rebounds, and two steals. On Saturday, during Navy’s Senior Day game against Colgate, Mesuch led all scorers with 16 points on 50.0% shooting, adding four three-pointers and five rebounds.
For the week, Mesuch averaged 16.5 points per game, shooting 46.2% from the field and an impressive 63.6% from beyond the arc.
Season Accolades and League Standing
This latest honor marks Mesuch’s sixth Patriot League Rookie of the Week award this season. She is now tied with Becky Dowling for second all-time in the program record book for rookie honors and is closing in on Zanai Barnett-Gay’s program record of seven awards from the 2023-24 season Patriot League.
Looking Ahead
Mesuch and the Navy Midshipmen will continue their season with a pair of road games. They will face Lehigh on Wednesday evening before traveling to West Point for a highly anticipated matchup against Army in the 2026 Star Game showdown on Saturday. Tip-off for the Lehigh game is scheduled for 6 p.m., while the Army game will begin at 11 a.m. Patriot League.
