An Post Irish Book Awards 2024 Shortlist Announced: Celebrating Irish Writing Talent
The shortlist for the prestigious An Post Irish Book Awards 2024 has been revealed, showcasing a diverse range of exceptional Irish writers across 20 categories. The awards, which have been celebrating Irish writing for 19 years, highlight the best of new and established talent in literature.
This year’s shortlist features renowned names like Sally Rooney, Andrea Mara, Graham Norton, Cecelia Ahern, Colm Tóibín, Maggie Armstrong, Dylan McGrath, Myles Dungan, Sarah Webb, Roddy Doyle, Oliver Jeffers, Zainab Boladale, David McWilliams, Ferdia Lennon, Proinsias Mac a’ Bhaird, Christine Dwyer Hickey, Caoilinn Hughes, Niamh Mulvey, Oisín McKenna, Seán Ronayne, Rozanna Purcell, and many more.

The winner of the coveted Eason Novel of the Year award will be announced at a prestigious ceremony held at the Convention Centre Dublin on Wednesday 27th November. The overall An Post Irish Book of the Year will be revealed on RTE One on Thursday 19th December during a special television program.
This year, the public is invited to participate in the voting process by choosing their favorite books between 8 pm on 24th October until 5 pm on 14th November. Participants will also be entered into a draw to win one of five €100 National Book Tokens.
