2024 Donegal Camino SMASHES target with record €122,000 raised!
The 2024 Donegal Camino has achieved an incredible milestone, raising a record-breaking €122,145.30 for the Cancer Care West Centre in Letterkenny. This outstanding result surpasses 2023’s total by almost €40,000, bringing the overall funds raised through the Camino since its inception in 2020 to a staggering €279,295.30.
The week-long walk attracted an impressive 735 participants from across the globe, with Irish walkers joined by individuals from the UK, Scotland, Australia, France, and the USA. This testament to the Camino’s popularity highlights its growing appeal as a charity event and opportunity to experience Donegal’s breathtaking landscapes.
A Triumph for Cancer Care West
Noel Cunningham, Chair of the Donegal Camino and a board member of Cancer Care West, expressed his pride in the significant contribution raised. He emphasized the increasing prevalence of cancer diagnoses, particularly in Donegal, and the Camino’s unwavering dedication to supporting those affected by the disease.
