Na zábradlí Theatre Celebrates a Year of Accolades

Prague’s Divadlo Na zábradlí has been named Theatre of the Year for 2025, marking a significant achievement for the company. The recognition comes alongside individual awards for its performers, Magdaléna Sidonová and Miloslav König, who were honored with the top acting prizes at the 2025 Theater Critics Awards.

2025 Theater Critics Awards: A Night of Recognition

The winners of the 2025 Theater Critics Awards, determined by a poll of 69 active theater critics and organized by the magazine Svět a divadlo, were announced on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the Komedie Theatre in Prague. iDNES.cz reported on the event.

Magdaléna Sidonová: A Veteran of the Stage

Magdaléna Sidonová has been a member of the acting ensemble at Divadlo Na zábradlí since the 1993/1994 season. She studied at the Academy of Performing Arts (DAMU) in Prague from 1988 to 1991, graduating with the role of Mother in Witold Gombrowicz’s Svatba (The Wedding), directed by Petr Lébl. A Legacy of Performance

Sidonová’s performance as Clarissa Dallowayová also earned her recognition in the new Joy of 2025 poll, organized by divedelni.net. Miloslav König’s portrayal of Karel Ove in My Fight – A Man in Love was similarly lauded last year, earning him the best male performance award.
