Gwacheon Jazz Picnic 2026: A Free Weekend of Music and Family Fun

Gwacheon City will host the ‘2026 Gwacheon Jazz Picnic’ on May 1st and 2nd at Gwacheon Citizens Plaza, offering a free weekend of jazz performances and family-friendly activities. The event commemorates the 40th anniversary of Gwacheon’s elevation to city status.

A Celebration of Jazz in Gwacheon

Organized and presented by the Gwacheon Cultural Foundation, the festival aims to bring the charm of jazz music to the community. Attendees can enjoy performances without a separate admission fee.

Lineup Highlights

The festival will kick off with a performance by Tom Ohlendorf, a British jazz guitarist gaining recognition in the European jazz scene. He will debut a fresh song inspired by his 2024 visit to Korea Sports Kyunghyang. The first night will also feature performances by Ahn Shin-ae and Oldie Butgudi.

May 2nd promises a diverse lineup including La Percussion, Forestet, and Lee Boo-young. The festival will culminate with a performance by world-renowned singer-songwriter Raoul Midong, known for his blend of folk, jazz, and R&B.

Family-Friendly Entertainment

The Gwacheon Jazz Picnic will also feature programs tailored for families. ‘Yubali’ will present a jazz children’s song performance, and ‘La Percussion’ will offer an interactive performance where the audience can participate in the rhythm.

Festival Details and Access

Throughout the venue, artist autograph sessions will be held. The mascots of the Gwacheon Performing Arts Festival, ‘Log’ and ‘G-pop’, will also be present to enhance the festival atmosphere.

Gwacheon citizens will have priority access to reserved seating through advance reservations. Unreserved seating will be available for general admission. Detailed schedules will be released on the Gwacheon Cultural Foundation website.

Looking Ahead

City officials express hope that the 2026 Gwacheon Jazz Picnic will be a memorable spring music outing for all attendees, celebrating both the city’s anniversary and the vibrant art of jazz.
