Champions were decided in all three divisions at the 2026 Shaanxi Provincial Mass Tennis Open after two days of competition drew 168 amateur players to the Yangling Tennis Sports Center, Shaanxi Daily reported.

The tournament opened Nov. 2 in the Yangling Demonstration Zone, where players aged from under 14 to 65 competed in youth, evergreen and parent-child categories.

Youth, Evergreen and Parent-Child Divisions Span Ages 14 to 65

The youth division welcomed players aged 18 to 40 in men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles. The evergreen division catered to players aged 40 to 65 in men’s doubles and mixed doubles. A parent-child doubles division added this year paired players under 14 with their parents to bring tennis into family settings.

Competition used a group round-robin format followed by knockout rounds, with bracket positions drawn on site during the event.

28 Referees Include Four National-Level Officials

The officiating crew totaled 28 referees, including four national-level officials, with more than 70% of head referees certified as national first-class referees.

Yangling Builds Tennis Demonstration Zone Under Provincial Guidance

Yangling Demonstration Zone officials said the event provided a platform for players across Shaanxi to compete and exchange skills while showcasing the zone’s sports vitality. Under the guidance of the Shaanxi Provincial Sports Bureau, Yangling has hosted multiple national and provincial-level tennis tournaments in recent years as it develops a tennis sports demonstration zone and expands its public fitness service system.
